With deep sorrow, family of Mr. Rajendra Kumar Dabriwala announced his passing on Sunday, 24th November 2024. Mr. Dabriwala, a beacon of humility, compassion, and inspiration, has departed for his heavenly abode. His life’s journey was marked by remarkable achievements and a relentless commitment to excellence, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

An alumnus of IIM Calcutta and Harvard Business School, Mr. Dabriwala’s academic brilliance provided the foundation for his exceptional professional journey. He has been a key member of various Merchant Chambers and Export Promotion Councils including FICCI which is the apex body for Indian businesses. He has also been a member of the All-India Management Association and was a part of the CEOs delegation to Israel.
Mr. Dabriwala’s illustrious career was a testament to his vision, dedication, and leadership across diverse industries. A pioneer as one of the founders of the conveyor belting industry in India and a coal mine owner, his leadership extended to prominent organizations such as International General Electric (IGE), GE Power Systems India Ltd, Fanuc India, and Elpro International, reflecting his multifaceted expertise and visionary approach.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Times Bank until its merger with HDFC Bank in February 2000, a transformative transition that contributed to the formation of India’s largest private-sector bank. He also promoted and led several Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), including RCA Limited, and Fortune Capital Holdings Private Limited, all regulated by the Reserve Bank of India.
His philanthropic dedication extended to Mitra Parishad, where he served as a Member and Chief Trustee for over five decades. Through his visionary leadership and financial generosity, he played a pivotal role in advancing the Parishad’s mission to serve the community through health, education, and cultural initiatives.
Mr. Dabriwala will be remembered for his compassionate nature, humility, and inspiring personality. He was a devoted father, a kind friend, and a generous mentor who touched countless lives with his warmth and wisdom. His legacy of balancing professional excellence with genuine care for others is a beacon of inspiration for all.
